ISP Minerals is a rock crushing plant that produces granules for the roofing industry. The control process includes the primary crushing operation, drying, crushing and grinding operation, screening, coloring and load out of the granules. The plant network includes six computer interface systems and ten programmable controllers. The system controls the grinding operation and the conveyance of the rock from one point of operation to the next. The communication network includes hard-wired Ethernet, fiberoptic, and radio telemetry to all each station the ability to monitor the entire plant process. Production data and reports are compiled and printed for monthly activity.
