The new PLC equipment uses the latest remote I/O technology and PLC controllers via an extensive ethernet system over a fiber optic communications network. The system consists of fourteen (14) PLC’s including five (5) remote elevated water towers/booster stations located at various locations throughout the city. The entire facility is operated from the control room with both desktop monitors and flat panel touch screens. Also installed for trending and water quality records was an Industrial SQL Server Computer system tied into the control system. Corsair Controls Inc. responsibilities on the project included system design, Operator interface graphic design, manufacturing, supervision of installation, the PLC programming, project coordination with other trades, and complete point by point startup/troubleshooting.
