Corsair Controls has been actively involved at this facility for several years. We were involved when the plant was converted into a SCADA system using Square D programmable controllers. The system includes both the water treatment and waste water treatment facilities.
The water plant consists of two well that feed the pressure filters at the treatment plant. The system also has one ground storage tank and one standpipe. The system has been designed to have a variety of features to assist the operators. The summer/winter mode allows the system to alternate methods of storage capacity, alarm notification allows the operator to dial in from home to address operation issues after hours, etc.
The wastewater system allows split flow treatment of the waste. A set of automated valves divert flow based on plant setting to either the activated sludge plant or the aeration lagoon. Automatic operation of the sludge plant allows the same crew to operate the water and wastewater facilities. A radio telemetry network has been installed to verify operation of a number of lift stations on the system
